Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)

  • Registration Certificate (our registry is accepted by all airlines).
  • Prescription Letter for PSA or Service Animal.
  • Behavior Certificate.

Steps to Take (in Order)

  • After booking, notify Turkish Airlines that you are traveling with a Service Dog, Psychiatric Service Dog, or Emotional Support Dog (where permitted).
  • Submit all required veterinary, import/export, and special-assistance documents for pre-approval.
  • Bring printed and digital copies of every document (ID card, health/vaccination records, forms, and letters) to the airport.

Route Limitations (Service Dogs)

  • Service Dogs accepted on most routes, subject to advance approval and local entry rules at origin, transit, and destination.
  • PSAs are treated as task-trained Service Dogs and may require additional review and documentation.
  • ESAs (emotional support dogs) are only accepted on limited routes and under specific conditions; on many routes they must travel under normal pet-in-cabin or pet-in-hold rules if allowed.
