Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal + handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Animal vest, bandana, or harness.
- All airline-required pre-approval forms.
- Vaccination Records including rabies certificate.
- Microchip matching all documents.
- Veterinary Health Certificate.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter for PSA or Service Animal.
- Behavior Certificate.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- After booking, notify Turkish Airlines that you are traveling with a Service Dog, Psychiatric Service Dog, or Emotional Support Dog (where permitted).
- Submit all required veterinary, import/export, and special-assistance documents for pre-approval.
- Bring printed and digital copies of every document (ID card, health/vaccination records, forms, and letters) to the airport.
Route Limitations (Service Dogs)
- Service Dogs accepted on most routes, subject to advance approval and local entry rules at origin, transit, and destination.
- PSAs are treated as task-trained Service Dogs and may require additional review and documentation.
- ESAs (emotional support dogs) are only accepted on limited routes and under specific conditions; on many routes they must travel under normal pet-in-cabin or pet-in-hold rules if allowed.
