Steps to Take (in Order)

  • Submit a request for KLM assistance-animal approval immediately after booking.
  • Verify EU/Netherlands pet import rules for your itinerary.
  • Carry digital and printed copies of all veterinary and approval documents.

Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)

  • PSAs and Service Dogs are accepted on all eligible KLM routes.
  • ESAs may travel only as pets in cabin for a fee.
  • Some destinations (UK, Ireland, Australia, Japan) require additional permits.
  • Floor space for large dogs may be limited depending on aircraft.
