Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)

Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)

  • Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
  • Recognition Gear: Service Animal vest, bandana, or harness.
  • Air China Service Animal Approval (required before travel).
  • International Health Certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian.
  • Microchip (ISO-compliant) for all international routes.
  • Rabies Vaccination Certificate fully compliant with Chinese entry rules.
  • Import Permit required for arrival into China.

Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)

  • Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
  • Prescription Letter confirming PSA or Service Dog status.
  • Behavior Certificate confirming calm temperament and public-safe behavior.

Steps to Take (in Order)

  • Request Air China Service Dog approval immediately after booking.
  • Prepare veterinary documents required for Chinese entry.
  • Carry printed & digital copies of all documents for airport verification.

Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)

  • Only trained Service Dogs and psychiatric service dogs are accepted in the cabin.
  • ESAs are not accepted under any circumstances.
  • China requires strict rabies, microchip, and import permit documentation.
  • Some destinations may require additional veterinary checks.
  • Large dogs may have space limitations depending on aircraft type.
