Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Animal vest, bandana, or harness.
- Air China Service Animal Approval (required before travel).
- International Health Certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian.
- Microchip (ISO-compliant) for all international routes.
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate fully compliant with Chinese entry rules.
- Import Permit required for arrival into China.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter confirming PSA or Service Dog status.
- Behavior Certificate confirming calm temperament and public-safe behavior.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- Request Air China Service Dog approval immediately after booking.
- Prepare veterinary documents required for Chinese entry.
- Carry printed & digital copies of all documents for airport verification.
Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)
- Only trained Service Dogs and psychiatric service dogs are accepted in the cabin.
- ESAs are not accepted under any circumstances.
- China requires strict rabies, microchip, and import permit documentation.
- Some destinations may require additional veterinary checks.
- Large dogs may have space limitations depending on aircraft type.
