    • High-risk countries: Rabies Titer required

  • Assistance Animals follow the same import rules as pets.

Deworming / Tapeworm Treatment Rules

Türkiye does not require tapeworm treatment for incoming dogs.
Routine deworming is recommended, especially for dogs visiting rural or coastal regions where parasites are more common.

Restricted Breeds at Entry

Türkiye has national restrictions on certain breeds. These breeds may enter only with special permits and must follow strict rules:

  • Pit Bull Terrier
  • American Staffordshire Terrier
  • Dogo Argentino
  • Fila Brasileiro
  • Rottweiler
  • Tosa Inu

These dogs require microchipping, mandatory registration, muzzles, and short leashes in public.

Public Transport & Transit Rules

Service Dogs are allowed on Turkish public transport, including metros, ferries, buses, and trams.
Pets may require a carrier, muzzle, or ticket depending on the operator. Service Dogs travel without restrictions or fees.
