  • Prescription Letter (ESA, PSA, or Service Animal letter from a licensed professional)

Important Notes

  • A physical ID Card, Registration Certificate, and visible Recognition Gear speed up the processing.
  • No airport restrictions: Dogs may enter Greece through any international airport if all airline and documentation requirements are met.
  • Assistance Animals follow the same import rules as pets.

Deworming / Tapeworm Treatment Rules

Greece does not require tapeworm treatment for incoming dogs.
Routine deworming is recommended due to rural landscapes and island wildlife environments.

Restricted Breeds at Entry

Greece has no national breed bans.
Local municipalities may enforce leash or muzzle requirements for strong or protective breeds when in public spaces.

Public Transport & Transit Rules

Service Dogs are permitted on Greek public transportation, including ferries, buses, trams, and metro systems.
Pets may require a carrier, leash, muzzle, or purchased ticket depending on operator rules. Service Dogs are exempt from restrictions.
