Deworming / Tapeworm Treatment Rules
Alabama does not require tapeworm treatment for dogs entering the state.
General veterinary guidance recommends routine deworming before travel, but it is not mandated.
Restricted Breeds at Entry
Alabama has no statewide breed restrictions.
However, some local municipalities may regulate Pit Bull–type breeds. Check local city/county rules for your destination.
Public Transport & Transit Rules
Service Dogs are allowed on all Alabama public transportation systems, including buses and city transit.
ESAs and pets may be restricted depending on the transit authority. Always verify rules with the specific local operator.
