π°π· South Korea’s Laws & Regulations for Assistance Animals are as follows:
Acceptance
Housing
South Korea does not have a single nationwide housing mandate for assistance animals. Acceptance depends on building regulations, landlord policies, and local practices. Service Animals and PSAs are generally accepted with documentation. ESAs are accepted with conditions and often require a prescription letter and advance approval.
Air Travel
South Korea enforces strict aviation and animal import regulations. Airlines operating to and from South Korea recognize Service Animals and PSAs when advance notice, documentation, and government import requirements are met. ESAs are accepted with conditions and may face airline and quarantine restrictions.
Public Access
South Korea provides public-access protections under disability law. Service Animals and PSAs are permitted in public transportation, subways, buses, trains, shops, restaurants, hotels, government buildings, and medical facilities when properly identified. ESAs may be accepted with documentation but do not have guaranteed public-access rights.
