Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Dog vest, bandana, or harness.
- Ryanair Pre-Approval required for all Service Dogs and PSAs.
- EU Pet Passport or valid Veterinary Health Certificate.
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate compliant with EU entry rules.
- Microchip (ISO-compliant) matching all vet documents.
- Behavior Requirements: dog must remain calm, trained, and under full control.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter verifying PSA or Service Dog need.
- Behavior Certificate confirming safe public conduct.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- Request Ryanair assistance-animal approval immediately after booking.
- Confirm EU/EEA import rules if departing or arriving internationally.
- Bring printed and digital copies of all documents to the airport.
Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)
- PSAs and trained Service Dogs accepted on most Ryanair flights.
- ESAs are not accepted under any circumstances.
- No pets are allowed in the cabin.
- Some destinations may require additional veterinary or customs paperwork.
- Aircraft floor space may restrict large Service Dogs.
