Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Dog vest, bandana, or harness.
- Korean Air Assistance Animal Approval (mandatory for PSAs & Service Dogs).
- Veterinary Health Certificate meeting international travel requirements.
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate valid and compliant with import regulations.
- Microchip (ISO-compliant) for international arrivals such as Japan, EU, or U.S.
- Pet-in-Cabin Requirements for ESA-style travel (carrier size, fee, weight limits).
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter confirming PSA or Service Dog status.
- Behavior Certificate verifying calm and safe public behavior.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- Request Korean Air assistance-animal approval immediately after booking.
- Verify destination import rules (Korea, Japan, EU, Australia have strict regulations).
- Carry printed & digital copies of all required documents.
Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)
- Korean Air accepts PSAs and Service Dogs on all international routes.
- ESAs may only travel as pets in cabin with applicable restrictions and fees.
- Some destinations require advance quarantine clearance.
- Aircraft type may limit floor space for service animals.
