Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Dog vest, bandana, or harness.
- IndiGo Medical/Assistance Approval (mandatory for PSAs & Service Dogs).
- Veterinary Health Certificate valid for travel within India or internationally.
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate up to date.
- Microchip required for most international routes.
- Behavior Requirements: dog must remain calm and under handler control at all times.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter verifying PSA or Service Dog need.
- Behavior Certificate to demonstrate public-safe behavior.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- Request IndiGo assistance-animal approval immediately after booking.
- Check India’s domestic or international pet import rules for your route.
- Carry printed & digital copies of all veterinary and approval documents.
Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)
- IndiGo accepts PSAs and Service Dogs on all eligible domestic and international routes.
- ESAs are not accepted under any circumstances.
- No pets are allowed in cabin (except trained Service Dogs).
- Some destinations may require quarantine or additional veterinary documents.
- Aircraft type may restrict available space for larger Service Dogs.
