Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal + handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Animal vest, bandana, or harness.
- U.S. DOT Service Animal Air Travel Form (required for all Service Dogs and PSAs).
- Vaccination Records — current rabies certificate required.
- Microchip (recommended for re-entry and identification).
- Veterinary Health Letter confirming the dog is fit for travel.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter for PSA or Service Animal from a licensed professional.
- Behavior Certificate confirming safe, stable temperament.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- After booking, submit the U.S. DOT Service Animal Form online.
- Contact Frontier if traveling with a Psychiatric Service Animal.
- Arrive early to allow time for document verification.
- Bring printed and digital copies of every document.
Route Limitations (Service Dogs)
- Frontier accepts trained Service Dogs and PSAs on all U.S. domestic routes.
- International routes may have stricter veterinary import rules.
- ESAs are not accepted for cabin travel on any Frontier flight.
- Handlers are responsible for meeting destination-specific animal entry requirements.
