Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)

  • Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
  • Prescription Letter: Verification for PSA or Service Dog status from a licensed professional.
  • Behavior Certificate confirming stable temperament and proper public behavior.

Steps to Take (in Order)

  • After booking, contact Aer Lingus to register your Service Dog and request special assistance.
  • For U.S.–Ireland routes, submit all Service Dog documentation for advance approval.
  • Ensure all EU-required veterinary documents match your travel route.
  • Bring printed and digital copies of all paperwork and present them at check-in.

Route Limitations (Service Dogs)

  • Aer Lingus accepts trained Service Dogs and psychiatric service dogs in the cabin on most transatlantic and European routes.
  • ESAs must meet the airline’s pet-in-cabin conditions and fee structure.
  • Flights to the UK, EU, and Ireland require strict compliance with rabies and microchip regulations.
  • Some airports (e.g., Dublin, Shannon) may require a veterinary inspection on arrival.
  • Space limitations may apply on narrow-body aircraft used on European routes.
