Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Dog vest, bandana, or harness.
- Norwegian Pre-Approval for Service Dogs and PSAs.
- EU Pet Passport or Veterinary Health Certificate for travel within Europe.
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate (must meet EU/EEA requirements).
- Microchip matching all veterinary records.
- Pet-in-Cabin Requirements (for ESA-style travel): carrier size, weight limit, and paid pet fee.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter confirming PSA or Service Dog need.
- Behavior Certificate confirming calm, public-safe conduct.

- Contact Norwegian Air Shuttle for assistance animal pre-approval immediately after booking.
- Confirm EU/EEA veterinary import rules for your destination.
- Bring printed and digital copies of all health and approval documents.
Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)
- Service Dogs and PSAs accepted on most European and long-haul routes.
- ESAs may only travel as pets in cabin where pets are permitted.
- Some aircraft types or routes may not allow pets at all.
- Strict rabies and microchip rules apply for EU/EEA entry.
- Space limitations may restrict large Service Dogs on certain aircraft.
