Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Dog vest, bandana, or harness.
- LOT Special Assistance Approval required for PSAs & Service Dogs.
- EU Pet Passport or EU-compliant Health Certificate.
- Microchip (ISO-compliant) required for all EU travel.
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate compliant with Poland/EU laws.
- Pet-in-Cabin Requirements (carrier size, weight limits, paid fee) for ESA-style travel.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter confirming PSA or Service Dog status.
- Behavior Certificate confirming calm and public-safe behavior.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- Request LOT assistance-animal approval immediately after booking.
- Verify EU import/export rules before departure.
- Carry both printed and digital copies of all veterinary and approval documents.
Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)
- PSAs and Service Dogs are accepted on LOT’s European and international routes.
- ESAs may only travel as pets in cabin for a fee.
- EU travel requires strict microchip + rabies compliance.
- Long-haul aircraft may have limited space for large Service Dogs.
- Additional requirements apply for the UK, Norway, Switzerland, and Japan.
