Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)

Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)

Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
Recognition Gear: Service Dog vest, bandana, or harness.
LOT Special Assistance Approval required for PSAs & Service Dogs.
EU Pet Passport or EU-compliant Health Certificate.
Microchip (ISO-compliant) required for all EU travel.
Rabies Vaccination Certificate compliant with Poland/EU laws.
Pet-in-Cabin Requirements (carrier size, weight limits, paid fee) for ESA-style travel.

Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)

Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
Prescription Letter confirming PSA or Service Dog status.
Behavior Certificate confirming calm and public-safe behavior.

Steps to Take (in Order)

Request LOT assistance-animal approval immediately after booking.
Verify EU import/export rules before departure.
Carry both printed and digital copies of all veterinary and approval documents.

Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)

PSAs and Service Dogs are accepted on LOT’s European and international routes.
ESAs may only travel as pets in cabin for a fee.
EU travel requires strict microchip + rabies compliance.
Long-haul aircraft may have limited space for large Service Dogs.
Additional requirements apply for the UK, Norway, Switzerland, and Japan.
