Quick Checklist (Bring to the Airport)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- Physical ID Card (animal & handler identification).
- Recognition Gear: Service Dog vest, bandana, or harness.
- China Eastern Assistance Animal Pre-Approval (mandatory for all Service Dogs & PSAs).
- Veterinary Health Certificate required for all domestic and international travel.
- Microchip (ISO-compliant) for most international destinations.
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate compliant with Chinese import/export rules.
- Import Permit when traveling to or from China.
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Registration Certificate (our approved registry is accepted by all airlines).
- Prescription Letter confirming PSA or Service Dog status.
- Behavior Certificate confirming calm temperament and public-safe behavior.
Steps to Take (in Order)
- Apply for China Eastern assistance-animal approval immediately after booking.
- Confirm quarantine requirements for the destination country (especially China, Japan, EU).
- Carry printed & digital copies of all veterinary and approval documents.
Route Limitations (Assistance Animals)
- Service Dogs and PSAs are accepted on all eligible China Eastern routes.
- ESAs are not accepted under any circumstances.
- China requires strict rabies, microchip, and import permit documentation for arrival.
- Some destinations require additional health certificates or quarantine clearance.
- Space limitations may apply depending on aircraft type.
