Entering from Outside of Europe (International Entry)
Required Documentation & Gear (must bring)
- ISO-Compliant Microchip (must match all documents)
- Rabies Vaccination Certificate
- Puppy must be 12+ weeks old at the time of vaccination
- High-risk countries: Rabies Titer required
- Low-risk countries (Canada, Western Europe, etc.): Titer not required
- Veterinary Health Certificate (vet letter confirming no known diseases)
Preferred Documentation (greatly facilitates acceptance and pre-clearance)
- Physical ID Card (animal + handler)
- Recognition Gear (Service Animal vest, bandana, or harness)
- Prescription Letter (ESA, PSA, or Service Animal letter from a licensed professional)
Important Notes
- A physical ID Card, Registration Certificate, and visible Recognition Gear speed up the processing.
- No airport restrictions: Andorra has no airports; travelers must arrive via Spain or France. Entry requirements depend on the border country you pass through.
- Assistance Animals follow the same import rules as pets.
Deworming / Tapeworm Treatment Rules
Andorra does not require tapeworm treatment at entry.
If entering via Spain or France, you must follow their tapeworm requirements (typically no specific treatment needed for dogs entering from most countries).
Restricted Breeds at Entry
Andorra does not have national breed bans for incoming dogs.
However, breeds considered “potentially dangerous” (such as Pit Bull–type dogs) may be subject to leash and muzzle rules in public areas.
Public Transport & Transit Rules
Andorra’s public transport system allows dogs at the driver’s discretion.
Service Dogs are generally accepted without surcharge. Pets may require a carrier or muzzle depending on the bus operator.
